WV Urban Agriculture Conference & Community Expo Goes Digital May 1!
UPDATED 4/30/20 – West Virginia State University (WVSU) Extension Service and the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) will host the annual West Virginia Urban Agriculture Conference digitally beginning Friday, May 1, at 8 a.m. Content will be available as free video presentations and downloadable handouts on such topics as tree pruning, cold storage, hydroponics, growing strawberries, maple syrup production, farm insurance options and more.
Originally scheduled to be held on the WVSU campus, the move to a digital format became necessary in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We had planned a robust roster of presentations and activities for our 2020 event and didn’t want to miss the opportunity to share this information with our attendees,” said conference chairperson Dr. Annette Ericksen, assistant program director for agriculture and natural resources with WVSU Extension Service. “Moving to a digital platform proved the best approach and will allow us to share sessions throughout the year. We thank our partners for stepping up to the challenge and conducting their presentations in a video format.”
